    Garland Science Learning System

The Garland Science Learning System offers high-quality homework and assessment content designed to complement our textbooks. It provides convenient tools for instructors to track the progress of the entire class, as well as individual students, and more precisely tailor lecture and discussion to student needs. Principles of Neurobiology features 58 modules organized by the chapters of the book, and categorized by the following types: (1) The "Tutorials" use engaging stories, including important experimental and medical examples, to explore essential or difficult concepts. Assessment questions are integrated throughout the tutorials to track progress and provide feedback to students. (2) The "Multiple-choice Quizzes," organized by the sections of each chapter, assess reading comprehension, retention of important facts, and mastery of concepts. (3) The "Media Assessments" present original movies created for the book followed by a set of assessment questions. The modules are designed both to educate and entertain while providing valuable assessment data to instructors. The Tutorials were created by Andrea Nicholas, University of California, Irvine. The Quizzes were created by Casey Guenthner, Luo Lab, Stanford University.
